Congressman Ribble Remembers September 11th

Sep 11, 2013 Issues: National Security

Twelve years ago today we all watched in horror as the Twin Towers crumbled to the ground and the Pentagon was torn with fire, smoke, and chaos.  It’s hard to forget the sickening feeling we had twelve years ago.  On this day though, we remember our brave first responders, and the countless Americans who performed heroic acts to help those trapped and injured.  We remember how the entire country came together to help those in need and comfort those who had lost loved ones.  Most of all we remember the unshakeable resolve that swept the country; we would not give in, evil would not be allowed to win.

Nor can we forget the horrible news just one year ago today that our Consulate in Benghazi was ruthlessly and unlawfully attacked in a brazen act of terrorism that killed an American Ambassador and three other American heroes. So on this day let’s remember the thousands who died, pray for their families who were left behind, and never forget.  May God continue to bless America and may we continue to embody the ideals and hope that was attacked in 2001 and 2012.
