Ribble Named as Conferee for Transportation Bill

Apr 25, 2012 Issues: Congressional Reform, Transportation

Washington, D.C. – Representative Reid Ribble (WI-08), a member of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, announced today that he was appointed to the bipartisan, bicameral conference committee that will help resolve differences  between House and Senate-passed versions of the transportation bill.

“In this role, I will continue to fight for Wisconsin to receive its fair share of highway funding and to provide our transit systems with the resources they need to serve our communities. I look forward to working with my House and Senate colleagues in the weeks ahead to move us one step closer to a long-term transportation bill. A sound infrastructure is important to the economy, and I will do everything I can to help get our nation’s transportation system back on track.”

Rep. Ribble has been working to get Wisconsin the best possible outcome for transportation funding. He and Rep. Duffy wrote a letter to House Leadership back in February raising concern over the highway funding formula allocated to Wisconsin and noting the impact that such reduced funding would have on Wisconsin’s infrastructure.
